Full Council
The Full Council consists of all 32 Councillors and is responsible for the adoption of the corporate plan, budget and for deciding the council’s overall policies.
Full Council meetings are chaired by the Mayor, who is appointed each year at Annual Council. At the Annual Council meeting, Cabinet members are appointed to their portfolios, the composition of committees for the coming year is agreed and the programme for the year is adopted.
Members of the public may submit a question in writing or by email to the Chief Legal Officer no later than 5 clear working days before the day of the meeting. Each question must give the name and address of the questioner. At any one meeting no person may submit more than one question and no more than one such question may be asked on behalf of one organisation.
Full Council meets four times a year. The meetings are usually held in the Council Chamber, Muriel Matters House and are generally open for the public to attend. Paper copies of the agenda for Full Council meetings are available on request from Democratic Services
