Committee details
Museum Committee
The council is now set up to host council meetings virtually. These are open to the public and can be viewed live on our council meetings videos area of the website.
Purpose of committee
The Museum Committee is responsible for overseeing the council’s museum service and the maintenance of its collection. The committee reviews new donations as they are received and considers proposals for how the service could be developed in the future.
The committee has fourteen members, which includes eight councillors and six members of the museums association.
The Museum Committee meets formally every six months. The meetings are usually held in the Council Chamber, Muriel Matters House and are generally open for the public to attend. Paper copies of the agenda for Museum Committee meetings are available on request from Democratic Services
