Public Space Protection Order for Hastings
Seeking approval to carry out a public consultation on a draft Public Space Protection Order relating to dog control measures and anti-social behaviour associated with drug and alcohol abuse in public places, and to then amend the proposals as necessary before implementation. Public Space Protection Orders replace existing controls such as those relating to dog fouling, under the provisions of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014. The existing provisions are superseded in October 2017.

Consultation process
The proposal is to consult in March/April and then subject to appropriate amendments being made, to implement the new Public Space Protection Order as soon as possible. The drat Public Space Protection Order setting out the areas covered and the proposed terms will form the basis of the public consultation.
Consultees
The consultation will include Sussex Police, East Sussex County Council a the 'highways authority', as well as specific interest groups and the general public.
